"You can see me? Let's play a game of catch..."

Unable to survive long without a physical form, his soul quickly attached to a favorite childhood toy. After years of neglect, this lonely spirit's only wish is to play his favorite game to pass the time. He really means no harm, if you dare to believe him.

Created for the Character Design Challenge Group’s October 2018 prompt - ghosts and poltergeists.

Hatchery
Hatchery

Hatching nearly a century too early, the premature dragon was frail and tiny. It did not cry out nor open its eyes, instead it laid in the remains of its shell hardly moving. The hatchery guardians and nurses worried that they had lost yet another - the third dragon egg in the last decade.

The moment news of an awakening dragon reached the training grounds, the young dragon rider took off in a sprint towards the hatchery. This was a once in a lifetime sort of thing. Without thinking, she pressed forward past the nurses, scooped up the little creature and held it tightly in her arms. She rocked back and forth, swaying it like a baby, all the while humming softly. Her persistence was eventually met with a cry that sounded like campfire embers crackling. She giggled as the dragon started to squirm and wrap its tail and wings around her. "I'll be here for you as long as I live," she whispered, "and fly with you in spirit even after I pass. So live a long life, my dear dragon."

Created for the Character Design Challenge Group’s March 2018 prompt - Dragon and Dragonriders.
